I'm curious, how do you reconcile the verse "he is greater than I" with the verse that says that the name of Jesus "is above every name" ?
Do you believe both verses are true?

@EasyPrompt
Isn't it interesting that no where in the New Testament (which is the ONLY governing textbook for Christians) does it say we are supposed to be witnesses of Jehovah?
A change occured, a new dispensation of the grace of God happened after Calvary:
Heb. 1 - God, who at various times and in diverse ways spoke long ago to the fathers through the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son
@SeaBreeze, now I am curious, do you not believe Jesus' words that the Father is greater than he is? I am sure you must believe.
Of course. Why would you doubt that?

That's a great idea! May I suggest that they could make a deal with the 7th Day Adventists to share their facilities on Sunday, since they only use them on Saturday?

I identify as a Christian witness of Jehovah God.
I'm curious why you wouldn't want to be a witness of the highest name in the Universe - Jesus?
Phil. 2: 9-10 "a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow"
jehovah' witnesses are taught to believe that romans 6:7 refers to a person's own literal death:.
watchtower may 15th 1982, pp.
8,9 - "the bible explains that at death a person is set free or released from any sins he committed.
In spite of the general belief among JW's .....The WT said this in w85 12/1 p. 11 :
While still living in the flesh, these “righteous ones” undergo a symbolic death. The apostle Paul explains: ...Therefore we were buried with him through our baptism into his death, .. . . because we know that our old personality was impaled with him ...For he who has died has been acquitted from his sin.”—Romans 6:2-7.
That is a great quote to have because the hope of every JW that I know is (A) survive armageddon; or (B) die so that you get a "clean slate". Hope in Jesus is far down the list if ever mentioned at all.
Of course the opposite is true. Hebrews 9: 27 says that we all must face judgment AFTER we die. And since scripture says that "all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags" (literally menstrual clothing or cloth), then we have a personal problem. Which is why we need a personal savior.
My grandmother died while taking a nap. She was found with an Awake magazine open on her chest. Naturally we all assumed that was the best possible way to go and that her resurrection into paradise was surely guaranteed.
Personal death is the real hope of every JW.... if they die before the Big A. Jesus is not personally needed. In wacky WT land, Jesus fulfilled some obsure legal requirement that no one can explain much less believe in.
Dying is really all you have to do as a JW. It is a heretical doctrine of self-atonement. The WT lets members continue to believe this even though they have said that the death in Romans 6: 7 is "symbolic".
So sad.

I believe Russell formed multiple corporations almost from the very beginning to :
1. Launder money
2. Reduce liability
3. Make it appear he was living in a virtual poverty
4. Keep from paying alimony to his wife
WT still operates the same way 150 years later, in my opinion.

@ aqwsed12345,
With the exception of the Roman Catholic Church doctrine on the "real presense" - All excellent references. What you have provided are several examples of testimony from "hostile witnesses" - considered excellent proof in a court of law.
This further complicates the job of Unitarians:
1. First, they have to change or cast doubt on verses that state that Jesus is God
2. Then, they have to change or cast doubt on all the dozens of references from the early church leaders that show their belief that Jesus was God.
3. Then, they have to change or cast doubt on all the testimonies from hostile withess sources, like the ones you provided.
We all have the same evidence; but for an unsaved Unitarian it simply provides evidence that those (imaginary) false scribes and redactors are everywhere!
False scribes and redactors are the rescue device that Unitarians invent to protect their assumptive presupposition at all cost.

The disciples of the Apostles wrote to each other a lot because of heretical ideas creeping into the congregation. So, the main beliefs of the first Christians are well established and easily cross checked. The reason Christians called Jesus God is because that was one of the MAIN teachings of the apostles. Unitarians are aligned with skeptic scholars to try and cast doubt on scripture. Not much has changed in 2000 years.
Here is a list of nine early church leaders, some taught directly by the apostles who call Jesus God in dozens of instances. This of course supports the traditional reading being discussed in this post.
Polycarp (AD 69-155) was the bishop (city overseer) at the church in Smyrna. Irenaeus tells us Polycarp was a disciple of John the Apostle. In his Letter to the Philippians he says:
Now may the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the eternal high priest himself, the Son of God Jesus Christ, build you up in faith and truth...and to us with you, and to all those under heaven who will yet believe in our Lord and God Jesus Christ and in his Father who raised him from the dead.1
Ignatius (AD 50-117) was the bishop (city overseer) at the church in Antioch and also a disciple of John the Apostle. He wrote a series of letters to various churches on his way to Rome, where he was to be martyred. He writes,
Ignatius, who is also Theophorus, unto her which hath been blessed in greatness through the plentitude of God the Father; which hath been foreordained before the ages to be for ever unto abiding and unchangeable glory, united and elect in a true passion, by the will of the Father and of Jesus Christ our God; even unto the church which is in Ephesus [of Asia], worthy of all felicitation: abundant greeting in Christ Jesus and in blameless joy.2
Being as you are imitators of God, once you took on new life through the blood of God you completed perfectly the task so natural to you.3
There is only one physician, who is both flesh and spirit, born and unborn, God in man, true life in death, both from Mary and from God, first subject to suffering and then beyond it, Jesus Christ our Lord.4
For our God, Jesus the Christ, was conceived by Mary according to God’s plan, both from the seed of David and of the Holy Spirit.5
Consequently all magic and every kind of spell were dissolved, the ignorance so characteristic of wickedness vanished, and the ancient kingdom was abolished when God appeared in human form to bring the newness of eternal life.6
For our God Jesus Christ is more visible now that he is in the Father.7
I glorify Jesus Christ, the God who made you so wise, for I observed that you are established in an unshakable faith, having been nailed, as it were, to the cross of the Lord Jesus Christ.8
Wait expectantly for the one who is above time: the Eternal, the Invisible, who for our sake became visible; the Intangible, the Unsuffering, who for our sake suffered, who for our sake endured in every way.9
Justin Martyr (AD 100-165) was an Christian apologist of the second century.
And that Christ being Lord, and God the Son of God, and appearing formerly in power as Man, and Angel, and in the glory of fire as at the bush, so also was manifested at the judgment executed on Sodom, has been demonstrated fully by what has been said.10
Permit me first to recount the prophecies, which I wish to do in order to prove that Christ is called both God and Lord of hosts.11
Therefore these words testify explicitly that He [Jesus] is witnessed to by Him [the Father] who established these things, as deserving to be worshipped, as God and as Christ.12
The Father of the universe has a Son; who also, being the first-begotten Word of God, is even God. And of old He appeared in the shape of fire and in the likeness of an angel to Moses and to the other prophets; but now in the times of your reign, having, as we before said, become Man by a virgin....13
For if you had understood what has been written by the prophets, you would not have denied that He was God, Son of the only, unbegotten, unutterable God.14
do you want to know what is really behind the fake coronavirus pandemic, so-called vaccines and the war in ukraine?
to understand current events, you must first learn the history.
the world's biggest secret is that there have been tremendous global disasters in the past that decimated populations and caused the collapse of empires.
No it isn't. Here are a few things that must happen first:
1. The rapture of people who trust in Jesus
2. The temple in Jerusalem must be rebuilt
3. The anti-christ rises to global power
4. Damascus is wiped off the map.
5. People have some sort or "mark" that without it, you can neither buy nor sell anything
